Flame Toys Furai Model IDW Megatron, IDW Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Nemesis Prime Images

Flame Toys is coming in hot with more announcements. After all what they revealed at the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong (ACGHK) 2018, they have shared some new official images of the next characters for their Furai Model line: IDW Megatron, IDW Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Nemesis Prime Images.

The Furai Model line is, as you should imagine, highly detailed model kits. They are easy to assemble and come fully painted. While not transformable, these figures have an impressive range of articulation and several accessories are included. Different from the expensive Kuro Kara Kuri action figures, these models will cost affordable $35 or $40. Some of them are starting to be available for pre-order in our sponsors below.

Transformers Writer James Roberts to attend TFcon Chicago 2018

TFcon is very pleased to welcome back James Roberts the writer of the fan favorite comic book series Transformers More Than Meets The Eye and Transformers Lost Light to TFcon Chicago 2018. Mr. Roberts will be taking part in Q&A panels and autograph sessions with the attendees of America’s largest Transformers convention and will have select scripts available.

TFcon – America’s largest fan-run Transformers convention returns to the Chicago, IL area the weekend of October 26th to October 28th, 2018. TFcon USA will take place at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center in Rosemont, IL with special guests BUD DAVIS (the voices of Generation 1 Dirge, Metroplex and Predaking) and STEPHEN KEENER (the voices of Generation 1 Fortress Maximus, Hardhead, Hun-Grrr. Mindwipe, Scattershot and Scorponok), IAN JAMES CORLETT the voice of Cheetor in Beast Wars and Beast Machines with more TBA.

Takara Tomy Studio Series SS-13 Shadow Raider, SS-14 Ratchet (Dark Of The Moon Deco) and SS-15 Ironhide Official Images

Via Dengeki Hobby Web, we have new official images of another set of the Takara Tomy Studio Series line. Now we can share for you: SS-13 Shadow Raider, SS-14 Ratchet (Dark Of The Moon Deco) and SS-15 Ironhide.

With this we have images of the upcoming Takara Tomy Studio Series from SS-17 to SS-18. We had previously shared for you the official images of Takara Tomy Studio Series SS-16 Bumblebee, SS-17 KSI Sentry & SS-18 Starscream. Sadly for those who used to choose Takara Tomy releases for improved decos or extras, these figures show no discernible differences compared to their Hasbro counterparts. The only difference is Takara’s numeration line up which has got less releases than Hasbro’s Studio Series so far.

These figures are expected for release on mid September, 2018. Deluxes are priced 2,800 Yen ($25.22) and Voyagers 4500 Yen ($40.54).

A bit late, but fellow Russian fans finally recieved the Transformers Power Of The Primes Wave 2 Deluxes At Russian Retail.

Deluxes Rippersnapper, Blackwing, Moonracer, Sludge and Snarl were found at “Detskiy Mir” (Children’s World) in the shopping center “Megapolis” in Moscow for ₽1399 RUR ($24.20 approximately) each toy. The store is offering 20% off at this moment.

Marcelo Matere to Attend CybFest NW 2018

Washington State’s Transformers convention, CybFest, will be returning this August, and fan-favorite artist Marcelo Matere will be attending the event. 

Marcelo will have a table at CybFest NW 2018 where he will be selling some of his artwork and meeting fans. Additional details regarding his appearance will be added in the weeks leading up to the show. Be sure to pre-register now for the show and come by to meet him and all of the great local artists that will be there. We’ll see everyone there in a few weeks!

CybFest 2018 will be held on August 18, 2018, at the Kent Commons Community Center in Kent, Washington State.

Good news for G1 fans across the US – Fathom Events will be showing the original 1986 animated Transformers Movie in theaters one night only this September!  In addition to the classic movie fully restored in HD, there will be a sneak peak of the new Bumblebee movie due in December and interviews with rocker Stan Bush.  The event is set for September 27th, you can grab tickets when they are available at the Fathom website. Every ship and every flight capable Transformer takes to orbit in a last ditch attempt to save their homeworld. Will they succeed? You’ll need to pick up the full issue, titled “Our Finest” to find out – but we will remind you this is issue 3 in a 6 issue miniseries.

The Unrustable Bastards Comic Kickstarter with Geoff Senior Art!

The Unrustable Bastards is a line of all original transforming figures, mostly futuristic bikes and riders.  They had a successful Kickstarter a while back and while not based on Transformers per say, but they do have the same DNA.  The crew behind it are long time TFW2005 Boards members and we’ve followed their progress over the years.  The crew is now running a new Kickstarter to fund their comic book based on the toys, building an all original world for the many figures we’ve seen so far.   We wanted to share that with you today, check out their official press release and hit the KS page here for more details.  Oh, and Transformers comic artist extraordinaire Geoff Senior is doing some art on the project too!

Following on from the success of their Unrustable Bastards Kickstarter campaign and subsequent toy line launch, Mayhem Mekanics is back with a fresh Kickstarter project and an exciting and ambitious new aim: to bring the Unrustables universe and characters to life with a six-issue comic book series.

The Unrustables comic will tell the stories of the Unrustable Bastards – a transforming robot-biker gang – and the conflicts that tear apart their desolate, dystopian home planet of Tombstone and threaten to destroy the gang from within. This original, dynamic fiction will follow Unrustable leader – Burley – and mysterious prodigal – Iride – along with the rest of the Bastards as they clash with rival biker gangs the Spector Rogues and the Yamazuki, as they all try to stay one step ahead of the crooked and brutal Enforcers, stormtroopers for the corrupt and oppressive Oligarchy that presides over the central planets, controlling populations with its choke-hold on information and technology. Featuring high-octane action beats, character-driven narrative and epic world-building, The Unrustables offers a foray into a grimy world of mechanical outlaws, grudges, turf wars, tyranny and betrayal.

These and other characteristics will make The Unrustables a sure hit with fans of such properties as Transformers, 2000AD, Sons of Anarchy, Serenity, Jason Aaron’s Scalped, and Pacific Rim. Its vivid, in-your-face visual style recreates the smash-mouth sensibilities of many of the 1990s comics now remembered with fondness and nostalgia by a generation of adult readers and collectors. Meanwhile, its gritty themes and characters and its robustly satisfying story arcs are more evocative of an HBO or FX drama.

The Unrustables creative team draws upon collective decades of experience and passion to bring their vision into being. The series is written by Sid Beckett (a.k.a. C Z Hazard, author of comedy-horror, Generic Vampire Novel, and Kickstarter-born satirical novella, Not In The Eye), and Ceno Kibble (well-known, long-standing contributor within the toy industry and collectors’ market). The vibrant, engaging art is provided by Bryan Sevilla (whose excellent work has elevated many pack-in comics), with colouring by Nate Hammond and variant cover art by comic book legend, Geoff Senior, whose seminal work on Transformers in the 1980s helped inform the medium’s zeitgeist.

The Unrustable Bastards toy line Kickstarter campaign enjoyed tremendous success, crashing through its most ambitious goals and resulting in the release of a line of transforming toys that have delighted backers and drawn in a multitude of additional fans across the globe. Designed by trusted third party mainstay, Nick Calloway (aka Cassy Sark), these sophisticated toy sets each comprise a robot rider and bike which combine to become an awesome “Mech Machine”, with incredible detail, great poseability and options for customisation, as well as an array of appealing weapon accessories.
